Mikaa's Wolf Trio SAL

So, I'm awaiting two kits in the mail that I ordered about a week ago, but I just couldn't wait anymore! I ended up picking up a kit I saw a while ago called Wolf Trio, and it's by Dimensions. Here's what it looks like:

I didn't pay much attention to the finished measurements, because it was about the same size as my last kit, but I realised when I got it home that it's going to be 10" x 14", which is double the size of my last one!! It definitely freaked me out a bit when I opened the package and found two pages of chart, as this will only be my second project  There are also french knots and couching on this piece, neither of which I've done before. I'm hoping to get a start on it tonight or tomorrow, so I'll take some pictures when I do!

This is the very first project I started stitching when I started. It overwhelmed me due to being a beginner at the time so I never did finish it. Now you make me want to pick it up again and tackle it once and for all. I can't wait to see your progress.

What an adorable and beautiful design! My son loves pictures of wolves.
I can't wait to see your progress.
Just remember...one stitch at a time...you can do it. :D

A beautiful project! Ainjel is right. It is one stitch at a time no matter how large the project is. Remember we are here if you have any questions. Looking forward to your updates!

One stitch at a time, very true! It's amazing to watch something beautiful start with a few simple stitches.

I'm really enjoying stitching this so far. It has a lot of details that my first project didn't have, such as different numbers of ply for different colours (the dark charcoal grey is only one ply, but for white it says to use 5!), as well as mixing colours and threading them on the needle at the same time. I am loving using two colours at once, it gives a really beautiful effect

I started in the middle, but I think I'm going to do the left side first as that is the first chart page. Here's my progress so far:

Does anyone else find that when their stitches are standing alone they look awfully messy? Maybe its the fact that it's light floss on dark fabric, but I'm hoping that once I fill in around those stitches they'll look a little more even.

Thanks to everyone for looking! Off to stitch two colours at a time... I think I'm addicted, lol! :tea:

Beautiful start! It really adds excitement to a piece when you do some blended colors as well as different plies.
We all tend to analyze our stitches a little too much when we are working so closely with them, but don't worry, it will look beautiful when it's all done!

Great start on this one. Your stitches look fine...we are often way too critical of our own work and examine it far too closely. When you get to that point, take a step back and view it from a distance.

Blended needles are fun, aren't they? They add extra dimension and interest to a design.

I'm excited to see more of this one.

:applesauce: :applesauce: Beautiful start! Blended stitches really do give a whole other element to your stitching. The different numbers of strands is not something I have done much of (other than 2 strands for x's and 1 strand for back stitch) so I'm very interested in seeing how that turns out.
I find that taking a picture and looking at that really helps me get a perspective on how my piece looks when I think it isn't neat enough or the details aren't coming through. Looking at your piece closely is probably the worst way to judge your stitching. We often say, we are our own worst critics.
Yours is going to look beautiful.
