Lowery questions

Well, I am saving hard for a floor stand. I started using a qsnap since sunday and I love it. My little x's are so much neater! But my body does not like it. I have Fybro and my hands and arms, back and neck are no longer agreeing with cross stitching using qsnaps. With my birthday money in January I have enough money to buy the Lowery!!!

But the big question is. Do I order the side clamp one, or the corner clamp one to use with the qsnaps? Can you tell me what combination you use so I can think about it and make a decision?!
For now I personally think the side clamp. Don't know why, so please tell me your opinions.

I use the side clamp with QSnaps and it works just fine... Yay for you getting a Lowery, they are awesome!

Wen, as you said you are saving very hard to buy your Lowery, I thought I would just throw a suggestion to you..
I like to browse ebay and often I see great deal for Lowery or other stitching stuff, mostly in the UK ebay site. Often they do not list the postage for other country but in different occasions I asked the seller and they got a quote for me and opened the bidding to international buyer for me. I have got some great deal that way as in Italy stitching material are hugely expensive and very very hard to find!
for example right now there are two Lowery up for auction

I love my Lowery! I use a side clamp with a 30" scroll frame (I have the longer arm and the wooden extender thingy) and it works fine.

I do not have any advice for you as I am trying to figure out what to get for a stand. May I ask, why did you choose the Lowery?

@Littleturtlegirl:
I do like how the Necessaire stand looks. But I find it to "bulky/massive" for in my living room. (I think my husband will get a fit with that in the living room). It also stands in front of you as far as I get it. I stitch on my couch and can not get up easily because of my, always there, pain. The Lowery can easily swing away from you so I have more time to get up and open the door when someone rings the doorbell, or whatever other reason there is to have to get up. I don't know how that works for for example the Necessaire. Furthermore I already know from looking at it that I can't use those black 3-winged knobs on the Necessaire, because of my hands. And then there is the price difference. So the Lowery it is.

I bought a lowery used on ebay and it came with the corner clamp. I put the top corner of the qsnap in the clamp and that way it doesn't get in the way of my stitching hand. It barely takes up any room at all and easily adjusts and swings out of the way when needed.. I still need the extra attachmments...the long L bar, chart holder, etc, which would make it using it even better. I have issues with my hands cramping up, arms and legs falling asleep, and not having to hold onto a heavy qsnap and fabric helps save at least one hand.

Such great info on this forum. I guess I will be saving my money for one as I agree it looks more compact than the other ones.

I have an unstable (new bought) lowery. ik have 10 very heavy books on he base and also the extended L bar. even when i only pull my thread through my fabric the whole thing is shaking and wobbling. all of the screws are very tight. please let me know how wobbly it may be. maybe i am doing something wrong
