Weelittlestitches is a designer on Etsy that makes a lot of pixel people patterns but she also keeps a blog. She has a great post from a couple days ago on how to make working with metallic floss easier so I thought I'd post a link here.

She did a good job; anyone who reads it should be ready to tackle metallics right away. I've heard of her way of knotting the metallics on the needle, but I've never tried it. If I ever get a design that uses two strands of metallic, I'll give it a shot. The Disney design uses one strand Glissen Gloss and one strand floss or I'd try the method there.
I've also never used Thread Heaven, but I know lots of people here do. I think I'll have to pick some up and give it a go.
Thanks for sharing.

I use thread heaven for my metalics, what a difference! I dont know that it helps with tangles, I just use short lengths and dangle often, but the thread glides through the fabric so nicely with thread heaven, less wear on the thread and fabric!
Ive used it on kreinick #4 braid, caron snow, anchor blending filament, and petite treasure braid.
I dont use DMC metalics for anything, I will just convert it to kreinick.
