Ornaments for Soldiers

Post by Cheri »

Hi all!! I am new at doing forums, so you'll have to excuse my shyness (hahaha)!
I love to create things and keep my hands busy. Like most people, I don't keep too many things for myself as they end up being gifts for others. I have taught private music lessons for years as does my mother and my daughter. I also learned to crochet and crosstitch from my mother and have tried to pass those on to my 4 daughters. Not always successful!!

Currently I am involved in two charities that one of my daughters created which support our military service members . Her husband is currently serving in Iraq and her charities keep her and her daughter busy.

Our need right now is for hand crafted ornaments, and letters that can be included in gift bags that will be distributed at Christmas time. We are a small family in a very small town in Southern Idaho and it is through others we can reach that make Project Rudolph successful!! We have grown from 1500 bags the first year, to close to 5,000 bags last year. Our goal this year is to fill 7,000 bags!!! You can read about this project by visiting http://www.projectrudolph.homestead.com" target="_blank" . Please let us know if you would be willing to help by making Christmas a little brighter for these men and women who have sacrificed so much for us. :)

Cheri, Hello and Welcome

So nice to meet you and we are glad you have found our site. We are agreat group of girls and guys here and hope to become close friends soon.

We have just started a Charity Card idea were we are going to stitch and send cards to a charity so they can sell them and raise money for research.

This is obviously very different but just as important at least in my eyes. My son spent 15 months in Iraq as a medic on the front lines. I had many friends who supported him and his company by sending gifts and cards and other support. I will work to get you something that you can use to send to these special people. I am self-employeed and have other commitments but I will try to get you something you can add.
If you are looking for some one to help change you, look in the mirror

I am TOTALLY doing this! i have an uncle and brother in law over there right now.
I have many friends who's husbands are there.

so basically a brown paper bag decoreated with letters, candy, and an ornament?
if that is correct I could do a few..and I know of other people that could do so as well.
If you get a comment of a ,I must be holding my :coffee:
