Thanks Linnea for the information and the link -- I had never heard of this brand before.

We do use a lot of terms and abbreviations and slang expressions that everyone isn't familiar with and it can be hard on new members. I had never heard of HAED designs (and as you can see in my signature it didn't take a lot for me to get hooked). Having been a lone stitcher for over 20 years before I found the forum, there were times it felt like I was learning a new language! This Glossary was and still is one of the great things available and I check it when an unknown expression shows up. There is one post which defines many of the abbreviations and if no one is around to explain something it is the first place I go to. And also ask away. As they used to say in school, don't be afraid to ask a question, because someone else is thinking about asking it too!

I think part of the confusion with HaED -- and I remember this was the case when I first joined here -- is that alot of times people don't use the term to indicate a pattern source. I see that alot here -- some people will use the acronym like it's the name of a pattern. Instead of saying. "I started 'nameofpattern' from HaED today...." they'll say "I started my HaED today." Instead of saying "When I work on 'nameofpattern' from HaED ..." they'll say, "When I work on my HaED...." They ignore the name of the pattern and just call every pattern they have from that source "my HaED." When new folks come in, they read it and wonder, "What is a HaED?" only to discover that's it's just a pattern producer.
