Hi Hi From Manitoba Canada

Hi everyone, I decided to join today after a few days of stalking this site and seeing so many different forums and sections in here. It seems like this place is really nice.

I have been cross stitching since I was a little girl, my best friend taught me and my Grandmother supported this hobby for a long time. Right now I am working on a free to download pattern (the Epic Pokemon Cross Stitch Generation 1) but I had to put it aside for a bit due to a convention that is coming up and having to finish my art pieces for that.

I am primarily an artist and I cross stitch to get away from the pencil. But it takes over my life.

I can't wait to meet all of you and see your projects. I post to tumblr when I have things to show, or even youtube. Can't wait to see all of your pieces.

BYE!

Hello from Colorado and welcome to the forum. I'm glad you came out of lurker status, and I hope you'll share pictures of your projects. Since you're an artist, have you converted any of your work into cross stitch?

I have not yet, I would love to but a lot of the art I create is copy righted for bigger companies so I have no rights to it. But I do a few things for myself, but all artists I meet are the same we are proud of what we make but it is never good enough for our own walls, but we will often put things up that are less then our own skill from other artists. (at least all my artist friends are like this) lol. Thanks for the suggestion, maybe one day I will ask someone who can convert things to work with me. I have a piece drawn by a friend who drew my character, I would love to stitch that for my own wall. I have never stitched for me.

rcperryls, As for what do I like to stitch. Any thing really. I have done a wow piece that I found a pattern for. I have to finish it (need to watch block and get it ready for photos) but that was for a contest they had and I never got to finish it in time. lol. But Blizzard liked the pictures of the almost done piece.

I am also stitching that epic pokemon piece for my kid, I wont be posting photos of that here due to copyright, I wont get you all in trouble for something I am doing. But it is on my tumblr blog. If you want the link PM me.

But for me I LOVE LOVE LOVE Carousel horses, I have two patterns here for them. And I need to find others. One I stitched years ago for my grandma so I most likely wont make it for myself as the pattern is REALLY REALLY damaged and hard to read now.

I am planing to do the Southwest Carousel that I won from one of Sheena's Find it to win it. http://www.sheenasgallery.com/Southwest ... 16499.html" target="_blank

So that one makes me excited, I am actually going to do it on the suggested fabric so it should turn out identical. I am just waiting on a chance to make my way to Sheena's again to pick up the last colour I need and the braided cord it calls for.

I am always looking for more carousel horses. So one day I will go get the others that Sheena has. And then I will buy more.

I am also in love with Japanese themed cross stitch. I don't own any, cuz I keep my stash SMALL!

Thank you for the warm welcome, I look forward to meeting you all.

Some of the most beautiful Carousel Horse patterns are those by Teresa Wentzler. There are several places you can find them online: Patterns on Line has them as does Cross Stitch Stash. Make sure that you scroll through all the pages to find all the patterns. An internet search on Teresa Wentzler Carousel Horses will give you other options. Now if I could find the finished pieces that I did years ago. These are lovely pieces to stitch!

Since I can't take pride in keeping my stash small, I think I'll opt to take pride in keeping it organized. @rotfl:
