bit stuck

Hello wonder if anyone can help me?
Ive been asked to do a cross stitch but given the pattern with no sizes, but not sure how to work it out on the size??
ive been told to count the stitches across and up then divide by 14 for it to go on 14 count adia, but do I count all stitches even blank to work this out ,
bit confused sorry xx

Yes, you would need to count the blank spaces as well as the ones with symbols---just count from furthest edge to furthest edge, blank spaces and all

And then remember to add at least 2 inches to each side for framing or finishing.

Sorry just thought on the charts it has the square in blocks of 10, if it goes from say 10 up to 150 then height 10 to 130 would that be 150÷14 = 10.7 & 130 ÷14= 9.2 inches ???

that should be right---so you'd need fabric that is at least 15 by 13 1/2 to allow for 2 inch borders---that will give you enough to properly frame or finish it in another fashion

Most of the cross stitch sites i go to have a fabric calculator, you put your numbers in and it does the math

I use this fabric calculator when I'm online:

Just plug in the stitch dimension, whether it's over 1 or over 2, and it will even add your border fabric. You can try it out with different fabric counts to see what size you want.

Thank you thats a big help x I got 12inch and this just said 13 inch which is gd
