Hello fellow cross stitchers!!
My name is Katie, I'm 29, I live in QLD Australia and I'm a cross stitch addict! I love my cross stitching and when I have time I am going to go the "Confessions of a Cross Stitcher" topic as I have a bit to add there!
This is the first forum I have joined and I am looking forward to reading about and interacting with like minded people!
Thanks for having me! :D

Hello from Colorado and welcome to the forum, Katie. I'm glad you found us. It looks like you are working on a couple horse designs (lots of horse lovers here); I hope you'll share pictures of your progress. What else do you like to stitch?

Wow, that's great there are some fellow Australians on here! I have travelled a fair bit around Australia and have been to both Newcastle and Sydney several times..

I have recently returned from a road trip to Ayers Rock which was amazing! Would love to find a nice cross stitch of that to do!

Yes Debby, a horse lover here too, I have one extremely spoilt pinto called Whisky! I mainly stitch animals, I have done a few by designer Fiona Jude and recently did a bunch of Jeanette Crewe's designs.. Being in the US you have probably heard of the Trail of the Painted Ponies collection? They are another vice of mine too.. I would love to post up some photos to show you but at this stage have no idea how to do it! Hopefully on the weekend I can get my partner to teach me as he is a computer genius and I only know the basics!

My most recent project I finished was an ice cream truck from a magazine, it wasn't challenging for a stitcher who stitches a lot but it was a bit of fun!
I have to do a double shift at work tomorrow and there is only one thing to say about that.. :ratherbe: !!!!

 Hi Kate from Wynnum West where we enjoyed the storm that rolled through around 4.30 or so. Odd to have the lights on in the house at that time - I even had to stop stitching. So glad you have joined us.

Are you goinf to the Craft & Quilt Show on at the Convention Centre in the city. 8th to 13th Oct.?

Hi to Orrietait in Italy, that's a long way away!

We got the storms too Sally, I love a good storm! We live out at Cedar Creek (Mt Tamborine) but I was travelling through Logan when the storm hit.. No good that you had to stop stitching, I hope you managed to get more done!
I had no idea that the craft and quilt show was a going to be on, nor have I ever been.. I am only cross stitch, hardly feels like I have enough time for that let alone doing any other crafts! So since I only do cross stitch do you think it would be worth my while going? Do they have cross stitch stuff (and things like aida for sale for my stash?! )?

Katie it is definitely worth a look at. I know Stitchabout will be there - they have boxes and boxes of gorgeous kits to stitch up plus there are always lots of lovely threads on various stalls. I am not sure if the guys from Sewitall will be there this year but hopefully they will as they have lovely fabrics.

So the short answer is "yes" there is quite a bit of stitchy stuff there as well as lots of other crafts. I will PM you my email address. :D
