Hello all - I've recently starteed a new pattern that was too beautiful to resist. The instructions have different dimensions printed for each fabric (with 22 Hardanger being the smallest) but as the design is quite large, I tried to adapt it for a 32count linen. (Over one)

I've stitched on 28 evenweave over one, full cross, and like the results. The stitches lie flat and look good. I've stitched about 200 stitches on the 32 so far, full cross, and they feel like a low pile carpet sort of? Is full cross too much for 32, or have people had success? It's hard to tell with such a small area.

I've done full crosses one-over-one on 32 count. I agree that it's quite thick and makes the area 'pooch' up. Did you try one-over-one and do tent stitches instead of full crosses? You might try some test stitches in the fabric margin to see if you like the coverage.

I stitch 1 over 1 on 32 count regularly. Mostly for ornaments that I want to make small and delicate. It does raise the stitching a bit over the fabric but overall I think it looks great. The teeny tiny individual stitches fade away and you're left with the image of what you stitched.

Thanks everyone. I did some test stitches at the beginning but it was hard to tell with such a small area. I've now got about 1200 done and I really like it it's going to take forever though

I hope you will post pictures of your piece. If it is a large one and sounds like it is, and you are expecting it to take a while to complete, we are great for continuing to encourage and motivate. We'll do it with or without a pic but I for one would love to see it.
