I am working on a crossstitch picture for a friend who has recently had a baby boy. I purchased Just For Baby (by good natured girls) and have started to work on the Special Delivery picture. I have a question though for a few of the symbols it give two colors. For example * has both light peach and rust beside it. and ^ has both light pink and dark green. Can someone explain to me what I am suppose to do with these situations.
Thank you very much for any help.

Hello and welcome to the forum from South Carolina! and welcome to a most wonderful hobby (and potential addiction) of cross stitching. Usually when two different colors are listed next to a symbol on the chart, it means that you should be using one strand of each. Its called a blended thread and is often used for shading or details. I would have thought that the instructions would have explained that. Most of the time there is a little * next to those symbols explaining this. I am assuming that this is a pattern which uses two strands of thread for each stitch. For patterns that use 3 or more strands, the instructions should clarify this. If it is still not clear, you can always email the designer or manufacturer for clarification. And ask any questions here that you have about this project, cross stitching or the forum. We'd love to see a picture of your work also. We love pictures!

Agree with Carole.
The only thing I can add is that 'Blending' is sometimes known as 'Tweeding' in the UK after what is done in making Harris Tweed.

Thank you for all the help I will mix the two colors to blend them. There was no instructions or note which I have been use to in the past, which is why I came here. It is great to be able to get some help.
Thank you all very much I will continue on with my work and hopefully be able to get a finished product picture on here.
