Originally designed for a mixed embroidery course, this little Shisha design uses mirrors and a variety of threads and stitches to create an Indian-style design that's perfect for decorating a box lid or cushion. All speciality stitches are explained in custom-made diagrams and descriptions.

I've been toying with the idea of teaching myself shisha embroidery lately. It's a cultural thing for me, I grew up with beautiful indian embbridery all around me andd was always fascinated by it but somehow never took the time to learn anything about it. So my interest paired with the fact that I have a roommate who works with glass and can help me to cut up a cheap mirror or even scraps of her stained glass or dichoric glass to use has gotten me thinking about it for a while now. If nothing else this post prompted me to start looking up more about it! :)

Do, it's a lovely style of embroidery! I'm doing a RSN day class later this month to learn more about it and am really looking forward to it.
