I love the start of a new year. The possibilities are endless as to what stitching will be accomplished. Last year brought 2 finishes which is more than any previous year so I hope to build on that 2016.
I have a few projects in mind to work on. Plus what ever else may find its way into my stash.
- Cottage of the Month
Veronique Enginger - Finch (companion piece to a 2015 finish)
I am awaiting the first 3 months of the Cottage of the Month to arrive. I had a bit of a stashitis attack over Christmas so I will post pictures when it all arrives.
In the meantime I need to finish my current WIP.

Looking forward to seeing the results of your stashitis attack! I have been also been known to suffer from the same ailment from time to time.

for your current project. It is beautiful!

I agree. And sometimes I've barely recovered from one bout of stashitis before another hits.
And the heart is SO pretty!

Unfortunately reality calls tomorrow. I made quite a bit of progress during Christmas break. Hopefully the top right will be finished tomorrow night given enough stitchy time after work.

Beautiful progress!

And it is hard sometimes to get back to work, especially when it interferes with serious stitching time!

You've chosen some very beautiful designs for your stashitis. I've had way too much of it lately and am putting my credit cards away for a while. I'll just drool over everyone else's acquisitions.

Love the deep red on that colour fabric. Very attractive. Also like your stash items. & look forward to seeing them once you start stitching them.

It may be a bit for the new ones to be started. I found a SAL that I want to do so that has cut in line.

After a love/hate relationship with the project I finally finished the Filigree Heart today.
I was so ready to be finished with this one. Does it seem to anyone else that the last half of a project takes twice as long as the first? I swear the last bits of it took forever. It won't be going to the framer for a little while since I am a little tired of looking at it. Honestly I folded it and put it in the drawer the minute I finished and totally forgot to sign and date it. That can always be added later.
I broke out some of my new stash already for the next start. I have had the pattern for a few months but just recently purchased fabric for it. This is my first project with colored fabric. It is a bit of an adjustment trying to see the holes so stitching is going a bit slowly thus far.
I will more pictures of my stash acquisitions later. I went a bit crazy after Christmas so I am a bit embarrassed to actually take pictures of it all.
Thanks for looking!

The heart looks beautiful! After a while you will look at it and think it is wonderful again. Love your newest project. Looks wonderfully elegant and is going to be gorgeous on that fabric with that floss! I tend to stay away from the darker fabrics (mostly use a pretty boring white or ivory fabric as so many of my projects are HAED and fill the page). This
tip from Scarlet Quince is one. Similar advice from
Stitchtastic.

Thank you for the lovely comments. I will definitely try a light under the fabric and see if that helps. I also think part of the problem is the person holding the needle. The only evenweave I have ever stitched on is the plain Charles Craft Monaco that you can buy at the craft store. It is very stiff in comparison to the Lugana which seems almost stretchy and that creates a different feel as far as tension. I ended up frogging my stitches last night and starting againit with less tension and I like it better. The other odd thing is that my stitches look so small on the dark fabric. I had to double check the label from PTP to make sure it was 28 ct. Maybe it is an optical illusion.

Worth pursuing. I hope the light works for you.
