Hello everybody,
my name is Antonia, I am Italian and I moved to London one year ago to follow my husband.
I cross stitch since I was 20 (so 10 years if anybody is wondering

) as well as embroidery, needle, crochet and much more.
When I was in Italy I was in contact with a lot of beautiful people through forum like this, but once I moved I lost my heaven. I hope I'll be able to create a new one here.
Bye for now

Hello Antonia and welcome to the forum from South Carolina!!! I'm so glad that you have joined us. We have many members who also work on other crafts and one of our sections,
All Other Crafts, is a great place to post pictures of crocheting, quilting or whatever you are active in. I hope that you will post pictures of your projects. We love pictures! What types of projects do you like to stitch?
Carole

Thank you for your welcome Carole.
Of course I will do post pictures... just I have to take some (I don't have any of my recent projects)
My last project was about Christmas, I did some Xmas trees as placeholder with the amigurumi technique, and some simple crochet snowflakes to decorate the house.
Now I am working on a new technique I hope to learn. It's a tatting technique called CLUNY which is used to make leaves motif. It's quite difficult to do every leaf regular, but I am improving (I can feel it

)

Sounds fascinating. I am not familiar with the techniques you mentioned, but we have had some great crocheted Christmas pieces shown this year. I am looking forward to seeing what you are working on.

Welcome from the Great State of Texas! I lived in Italy for two years; only been back a year or so and I loved it! I miss the beautiful countryside....hope you enjoy your new home and your new friends on this forum. I'm very new to it also, but they all seem like wonderful people.

Greetings Antonia and Welcome from me too in blessedly cool Brisbane Australia. I am so glad you have joined us and I look forward to seeing pictures of your progress.
I was interested to read about you learning a "new technique" of tatting. I agreed with myself many years ago that tatting is not for me. A cousin showed me how - several times - but I gave up at that time. Then a few years later a friend was doing some so she "walked" me through a simple round however when I tried it again at home it was all wrong so I decided it was "not for me" and never tried again.
I can do bobbin lace, quilting embroidery hardanger etc etc as well as knitting and crochet so I have plenty to keep my old age body occupied.

Thanks to all of you. Very kind
@PattyMac where did you live in Italy? I am from Calabria, the very south of Italy
@Squirrel there are two techniques used for tatting. One with that nightmare called shuttle and one with the needle. I can't do with the shuttle, it's just impossibile
but with the needle is totally different and easier. I'm learning on youtube

Belated welcome from me in SW France.
I've looked at trying Tatting, both with a shuttle and with a needle.
I look forward to finding out more. What Youtube link do you use? I saw a few and got confused between the two techniques.
