The big blue beast is finally done. My bro picked out buttons for it and they came today, Got all the pesky ends woven in, and it's all packed up ready to mail. Fingers crossed it fits him.
BTW don't talk to me about knitting for a while.
I've been knitting a sweater for D/H

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No wonder it came out Too Big!! I'm in the process of ripping it down!
I'll bag up the wool and try it again later in the year. Lets face it....he won't need a sweater in the summer will he!!
Linda, what a lovely, manly, warm sweater. He is a very lucky brother! The buttons are perfect for it too.

That is a beautiful sweater! I really admire those of you who can knit. The reason I loved crocheting is because I only have to worry about one stitch at a time (just like cross stitching!). Your brother is going to love this!

I knitted up this one twice, it came out too big as well, instead of balling it up I knit it off the first one. Worked well since all the balls were knotted together, at least I didn't have to do that again.
Thanks for the kind words, I just hope it fits him . It weighs a bloody ton too, Superbulky yarn-Titan from Mary Maxim. Took 17 balls to do since it only had about 85 yrds per ball.
tiffstitch wrote:Wow! That looks fantastic, well done. I hope the weight wasn't hard on your wrists, I've had that issue before with heavy things.
Yeah that's a constant anyway, it wasn't really my wrists but my arthritis in my thumbs and my shoulder, could only knit it for 2hrs with a break in between. Knitting my self a purple sweater right now and it's so much lighter, I can knit a little longer on this one.

What a super achievement to have it done. Let us know how it fits. I am sure he will love it.
