Thank you for posting it Serinde, I was going to put up a post myself.

Christchurch is a very English city, quiet, orderly and going about its daily business. I lived there for my 1st 70 years until I followed my 5 kids across the ditch (Tasman Sea) to Australia. I have driven both the streets where the Mosques are many many times and know the general area fairly well. The odd quirk about the whole horrible mess is that the male person who thought all the attack up is an Australian Citizen who had gone to NZ to train and plan the attack and which city to target.

It reminded me of a happening not long before I left Christchurch about a new neighbour a few doors from my home. I first saw the younger lady with a toddler and stopped to chat with her briefly. Our next chance meeting was a few days later and she had an older stooped lady with her veiled etc not sure that the older lady knew much English as she didn't appear to understand what was said. I think of them and hundreds of others who live in my lovely city which sadly will never be quite the same again nor will the rest of NZ.

Thank You Serinde and all others who have heard of the news. It is appreiated

It appears there is rage in Eden as well as everywhere else. What a dreadful happening. My sympathies to everyone in NZ, and even more to those involved.

Regards,

Richard.

I can't find the words to express how truly awful, dreadful and evil this is. I don't have a place in my brain to understand (and don't ever want to have a place in my brain that does understand) these types of events. My heart goes out to all those effected by such tragedy and to all the people of New Zealand.

My heart broke yesterday at such terrible terrible events.

I am glad I do not understand such mentality as would cause so much pain and suffering.

The haters need to know they will never win, they will never divide communities where there is love, our hearts break, we grieve and we come together because as Jo Cox said, "We have more in common than divides us".

My thoughts and prayers are with those directly and indirectly effected, may New Zealand although forever changed, grow stronger.

It is what I truly feel too.

On behalf of all us Kiwis on both sides of the Tasman Sea ("the Ditch) Thank you for your support. It has been a horrible time but out of it will hopefully grow a greater understanding of how others see their world and a great tolerance of anything a bit different from our usual way of looking at life. :)

My exact sentiments, such a sad thing for this to happen--why can't people learn to get along??
