I have just registered for the Royal School of Needlework's Certificate in Hand Embroidery, starting in September. I am so excited. I had to share the good news with people who can appreciate just how thrilled I am :D :whoop:

Fantastic! I'm not surprised that you're excited!!

You do realise, of course, that we will want to see samples of your work!

Also I am a wee bit :ribbit: with envy about you going there, as will a few others here!

Well done! I hope it is everything you want it to be. Where are you studying -- at Hampton Court?

I agree completely. Especially the part of showing samples of your work ( and being a bit  with envy)

You are all so funny
I promise there will be photos once I've fathomed out how to post pictures again.
I'd love to do it at Hampton Court, Serinde. I did a day course there in October last year and it is just beautiful, but Rugby is 40 miles down the road and Hampton Court is 120 miles away, so I'm going to do it at Rugby.

How wonderful! This is the first of the three-year ones, isn't it? Do you have any plans for becoming a professional emboriderer/teacher, or is this purely for the enjoyment of learning? Whatever the reason, what a great opportunity, enjoy! And drop in for a cuppa - Rugby is only three miles down the road from us :-)

Oooohhhhh how exciting!

You will keep us updated won't you, we will be cheering you on and arranging for the magic couch to be extended.

I'm not envious at all, honestly, well ok, maybe more than just a little bit.

Just put in the order. (That makes, I think, 2 couches and a bench now.)

It's all Jo's fault :-) - her post reminded me that the Rugby satellite location is only 3 miles from us, and she mentioned the pay-as-you-go option. I don't want to do the whole certificate, so have contacted the RSN about options, and have now signed up for the Jacobean crewelwork module, to be followed by the goldwork one.

I think I'm happy....

(more on how I finally decided to Do It on FoF)

very likely, Serinde; I'm starting a little earlier, but I'm going to take it at an easy pace. And with 8 "contact days" per module, there is plenty of possibility for us to be there on the same day!
