I'd always be worried the threads in that toothpick flower would shift or bunch up afterwards
Some of the "tricks" in the second video are really just stitches (like the woven picot and the Portuguese border) and I bet most of use could produce a fairly even line of running stitch without the help of a comb
but it's nice to see people getting into stitching again.
