Stitches 'N Things?

After a 20+ year sabbatical from needle art, I am looking for sources. In the past 20+ years, the needlework storefronts are few and far between and have a limited inventory. The Internet not only offers ease of shopping but a cornucopia of products. I have shopped abcstitch, com, 123stitch.com & everythingcrossstitch.com. I discovered https://www.stitchesnthings.com/search.cfm" target="_blank last night. They seem to have an sizeable inventory and also sell DMC floss for $.50 a skeen, which is the best price I have seen so far. Has anyone had experience with Stitches 'N Things? If so, positive or negative....recommend or caution to steer clear?

Thanks,
Mendi

Can't say I've heard of them on the grapevine. I wonder if the DMC regular thread is a loss leader, though? Their Etoile is much more expensive ($2.05) per skein than, say, 123stitch ($1.68). Also Pearl Cotton 5 costing $1.85 vs $1.39. Still, I know I search around for the least expensive option, although this is sometimes tempered by shipping costs... I might, for example, be able to buy everything in one place and avoid shipping costs although that might mean paying for a bit more for some things.

Yes, sometimes a bargain turns out not to be a bargain once you've factored in shipping costs!

On the other hand, I have been known to buy more than I needed "to make the most of the shipping costs"....

Been there, done that...saved the postage!! :whoop:

I'm always amazed at the difference in pricing for threads/floss 'over the Pond'

I'm always amazed at the price difference also and don't understand why but am glad to enjoy it. Mendi, I do find that for DMC the big box stores like Michaels, HobbyLobby, Joanne's have the best prices but don't keep their inventory filled as much as I would like. Depending on the Walmart and/or Target they may or may not carry DMC and are not kept up enough to be worth it, unless you are shopping for other things and just want to check. I'm finding it easier all the time to shop online and miss my LNS very much. I haven't heard of Stitches "N Things either and looked at it just briefly. Let us know what you think of them,if you decide to use them. Amazing that so many on line shops are out there!
