Thank You ladies for the kind Birthday wishes.
I was thoroughly spoiled rotten by my DS and lovely friends.
I had some wonderful gifts including the Opus Anglicanum book (!) and Wrendale's Grow Your Own kit - the Rabbit munching on a vegetable basket, I wasn't allowed to do any washing up and we had a yummy Chinese takeaway for tea, as I said thoroughly spoiled.
Our lovely Helene sent me a gorgeous stitched card of a mouse in a comfy chair reading a book, she summed me up perfectly - Thank You again Helene.

Oooh a lovely day and lovely presents! Enjoy the kit, it sounds adorable - which Opus Anglicanum book is it?

Thank You Lyudmila, it was a lovely day.
Mabel, it is the English Medieval Embroidery Opus Anglicanum published in association with the Victoria and Albert Museum, the photos are amazing, they are spread over two pages and have a diagram of each of the symbols - it's fascinating.
I'll post a picture of it later in the Stash Acquisition section later

What a super day you had!!

That Opus Anglicanum book sounds wonderful!
Having said that I probably would
Not stitch another Wrendale I did succumb to that Rabbit "Grow Your Own" design!

He's something special isn't he! Not sure when it will be stitched...but then these kits don't go off do they!

Mabel, I really wanted to go to see the exhibition but couldn't get down to London, the photographs in the book really are amazing and the diagrams and descriptions help bring the whole image alive.
I have to look at it at the table though, it is so heavy, however it will keep me out of mischief for many hours
