Podolyanka's Finishes 2020

The very first finish of 2020 is Janlynn's "The Sportsman's Dream"(I call it "Fisherman's Dream").

Now, that the BS is done, I admit that it does make a great difference. But boy, was it not a test for my nervous system!
A picture will be added to this post after ironing.
Now I am going to "get rid" of the Easter towel by the weekend.

Looking forward to seeing this new finish. BS is like that, of course, but it's usually there (most of the time) for a good reason...
Maybe I should think about "getting rid" of my WIPs... might make it easier to just get on with it!

Serinde, by "getting rid" I mean completing/finishing that WIP.

This will be a double surprise- the birthday "child" (my good old colleague) does not know that I know he is a keen fisherman, and does not suspect I am a stitcher.

Oh what a lovely view out of that window!
It is indeed a fisherman's dream
I can see why the backstitch was a trial for you, but it has been oh so worth it in the end.
Lucky old colleague
You have stitched it beautifully Lyudmila.

Two surprises on his birthday - lucky friend! It certainly is a lovely design, such detail and so personal because it was chosen with him in mind.

What a wonderful surprise for him! A delightful design for a fisherman with all the warm colours. You are a very generous friend, Lyudmila.

I knew exactly what you meant -- I just thought it was a clever way of showing the WIP who was boss!

Thank you for your kind comments. Here is another finish of 2020(was stitched in parallel with "The Fisherman's Dream" to keep me sane). Back stitch free, this Easter towel was easy and very relaxing.

That's lovely! Are the words the traditional greeting "Christ is risen, He is risen indeed" (or "truly risen")?

Yes, exactly. Mabel, I did not know the English response to "Christ is risen", so thank you very much for your accidental, but so greatly apprecieted help. I have already put the phrase down into my special notebook. Funnilly enough, the words and phrases learnt at the uni 47 years ago (touch wood) all sit in their places in the brain, the "findings" of recent times need to be written down or they may go as easilly as they come.

You're welcome! The Dutch version is more like yours, I think, it says "He is truly risen".
Learning tends to be easier when we're young, alas! But we can still learn new things - it just takes a bit longer
