Agi - Babies

There are three colleagues, one of them a really close friend, who are expecting babies in September and October. I thought I will put all of them in one thread.
So this is the first one I put together, I designed it (but looking at some patterns I have, I have to admit). Only the date is missing.

Thank you so much.
I have a plan for the second one, due at the beginning of October. But the third one, the friend I mentioned... I am not sure. She doesn't like cutie things. So I would love to do something different for her but don't know what. Have you got any ideas what to stitch for a baby that is not a cutesie?

Difficult one. I have been searching on the internet and am looking through magazines - came across some baby's building blocks with numbers/letters on which echoes Busy B's idea. Will keep looking.

Thank you - and thanks for the tips as well, I will try to look around some more. I may give up the surprise effect and simply ask her - may be show her three or four to choose from.

Well, I sent her some links to look at, and she says she likes both Tatty Teddy and Lickle Ted, so I am going to choose one of them. Perhaps Lickle ted - I love tatty Teddy but he is a bit too grey for a baby's room.
Also she was told she may be giving birth a bit earlier than expected, so I have to hurry up!

Oh I so hate deadlines and I am so happy I have all next week to finish up the Fire and Ice for hubby, Agi wit school and the samplers I have a feeling you will not be able to be on as much. Good luck with your ideas.

Well, yes, you are right. I was just telling my husband that I want to do nothing else today but stitching - I had so little done this past week. And couldn't spend as much time here as I would have wanted. But alas, the flat is in a real state, too, and some food needs to be cooked, and some ironing done... I need some housework fairies
I will not fret about the deadlines. If I can give them the sampler when the baby is one month old - nothing terrible will happen. I probably won't go to visit in the first few weeks anyway, you can pick up so many viruses and bacteria in the school that can be dangerous for a baby. So I will just enjoy the stitching.

I ordered this:
http://www.sewalong.co.uk/ProductFull.asp?sel1=(DMC" target="_blank" target="_blank)BL081/54
I also ordered some 16 count Aida from a Hungarian e-shop, quite cheap, because I want to make it a bit bigger than the original kit, with some text on it. Name, date of birth, etc plus a quotation. Don't know what yet. I hope Hajni (my friend) will like it. She showed me some pictures of the baby's room, it will fit in the decoration.
The third one is going to be a mobile. With these:
A little cloud and a fairy is still to be done. All things that are in the sky

I may do a bird and a butterfly, too, if I have enough time and if I can make a pattern in a similar style.
