TW The Storyteller - Framed!

This is what it's supposed to look like, but this image is very dark in comparison to what it looks like in 'real life'.

This is as far as I've got so far, and it has taken around a month, I think. And I've done a fair bit of both frogging and ignoring errors! The blemishes on the fabric were there when I opened the package. I thought of taking it back, but it was the only one in the shop, I wanted it, and I figured the stitching was going to cover them anyway.

I interrupted this to do the blackwork piece, and am now trying out the assisi I posted in my gallery, but I thought I'd better start this thread now, because I'm not enjoying the assisi much - even though I am GOING to finish it (be damned if I don't!).

But I want to get back to this as well, and starting the thread is a good excuse to do so! Can't do any today, but Monday is looking good... so far, anyway. :D

pretty!!

about the color differences...when i see things in magazines or such that i love..i usually look at the actual color by opening my floss box and checking out the colors..usually it's lighter than the photo..if the design is cute and the colors aren't in real life..i don't do it lol

The colour on the actual kit picture I have is fine! A bit darker, but not nasty and dull, like that one I picked up from the net. And my photo of my work is actually lighter than in RL ... Though not very much.

All in all, it's a nice pic. I like it a lot. :D

Yes, checking colours can be worth while; but when most of the stitches are in combinations of two different-coloured threads - as with TW designs - it's a bit difficult to know what the end-product will really look like!

My daughter did this one a couple of years ago and the colours look clean and fresh, not muddy or bright, the whole picture is very effective. I am sure that you will enjoy completing and the love the finished picture.

Yes, that's how mine looks, too - and once it is complete, with backstitching done, it will come alive. :D

Thanks ~threadbear~, Cindy and Mabel! :rose:

I'm really looking forward to getting back to it. :) I've done a bit more of the assisi, too, so when I've taken another pic of it I'll make a little thread for that as well.

It's looking good, I love these medieval-type designs! :applesauce: About things looking darker than their picture, I've read on some HAED reviews about them coming out darker, and I think my Mystic Stitch will be a bit darker once it's done, judging by the skin tone colour but I guess we should just appreciate things like this as being the unique-ness of our finished piece, who wants it to look the same as the cover design anyway?!? With kits I always throw away the front cover picture bit once I've done enough to be sure I'm in the middle & got the right colours etc, otherwise it's no fun watching another copy of the same picture appear... if that makes sense??

It makes sense - but I've never done it! :D

I've done a bit more this morning - part of the border - but will not post an update yet, as I want to do a bit more of the main picture first. Should be posting one sometime tomorrow.

I've debated about getting this kit myself. I think the fact that it would be extremely time consuming and I've already got A LOT of other kits I already own and want to do I haven't pick it up . . . . yet.

Done a bit more. Not as much as planned - yesterday wasn't as free as I thought it would be! And busy today as well, but but added to border and started dragon's nose:

Not a very sharp image, sorry. :(
