Amathusia, February Birthday Girl, Now Finished!!

Post by xGailx »

Sorry, no picture here but they are in my gallery if you want too peek (having problems making it smaller, so i gave up!). I'm really pleased with the way this is going, hope to have it finished for the end off the week as I have the baby sampler (the one in sepia tones in my gallery) to do again for my friend at works first grandchild. I still have beading to put into this picture and a little amethyst to put in just where i have my needle sitting. xx

That is a wonderful pattern and will really look impressive with the beads and the gem. :applesauce:

Thanx everybody for those lovely comments...I have now officially finished this project, although im finding it very hard to sew in the amethyst (no hole, you have to cross stitch over it, and its not holding) so I'm going to glue it on then sew it over, hopefully that will work! I did enjoy doing this though, and now I've to stitch April for a friend who's 60 next year....oh the joys! lol xx

Lovely finish Gail. :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

What a pain about the amethyst though - I wonder why they didn't give you one that had the hole already in it - it would have been much easier to work with.

Gail that is a super finish. How odd that they made the gem so hard to attach. Not a very smart move on there part. I hope you are happy with your finished result of glueing and then stitching. :applesauce:

If you are still having trouble Gail, I've got lots of Amethyst coloured beads with holes that you could have. If you post a photo of the one you've got, I'll see if I've got anything similar.

Thanx Susan, Im going to try this out first, and if it dont work I will let you know..its a shame because it is a REAL amethyst but its like the size off 2 long grain off rice...so its very fiddley.
