Not quite on subject Wendy, but there's a lovely book about a princess by Tony Ross called "I Want My Potty". My children loved it when they were little. You can see it
here.

haha that is cute!! I'll let my friend know. Her daughter and my son are only weeks apart in age, her daughter older..and my son has been 100% potty trained for almost a year now! 3years old this past Feb.
some kids have it harder than others I guess..

Yeah their all different and lets be honest, does it really matter? After all they all get there eventually and who can really remember by the time they're all say 10 or 16 who did what first?
Just remembered one of the girls who's daughter didn't walk as quickly as our children did and all her anxiety, yet within a few years you wouldn't have had a clue that her daughter walked last if you didn't know them, so does it matter?
I know it's a bit off topic here, but it just popped into my head when I was thinking about potty training and all the worry and anxiety us poor parents go through just because people seem to think certain things need to be achieved by certain ages.
Hmm, I seem to have got on my soapbox a bit here

Sorry!

No offense meant to anyone, just me musing back over things that have happened with me and friends.
C-F, I think it's lovely how you're trying to help your friend.

i know..i dropped out of the mommy group because all they did was compared which child did what first and who had the worst husband.
I have good kids and a great hubby so I had nothing to sit there and complain about..

I know how you feel, TB and C_F! My grandma was constantly criticizing me when I was potty training my son. Both DH's side of the family and mine are extremely stubborn, so the kids got it from both of us. Conner started out well with training before his 3rd birthday, but then he just dug his heels in and refused to do it any more. I wasn't going to fight him, so I let it go. When he was 4, he told me that he only wanted to wear underwear. Since that day, I think he's had 1 or 2 accidents in over 2 years. Now my daughter is 3 and going thru the same thing Conner did. Since I'm home with her all day, I'm not pushing the subject. She'll come around.
It drives me nuts when groups of parents compare children with who is doing what first.

tell me about it!::LOL:: although my DD did everything within her age, there was still some comparing with other kids, you know, who started walking first, or talking first, etc. My mother told me I didn't started talking until I was 3 years old; don't know why, just did. Now, you can't get me to shut up!!
