Sarah's Dobermann - Trojan - FINISHED!!

Surprise! Don't know how I'm managing with only two projects on the go. So I thought it was about time I started another! Just thought I would do the first page of the chart of this to make a start, while I'm waiting for yet more supplies of greens to arrive for my HAED.
This is a picture of my crazy dog, Trojan, from which I've made my own chart. I've been wanting to start this for ages, but refused to let myself until I'd finished Predator, Chinese Dragon and Dolphins.
I'm stitching this on 16 count grey Aida - I thought grey would be the best choice because the dog is black and I don't want bits of white fabric showing through, but if I stitch on black, the flowers might not look right - so grey, being in between, should work ok for everything.
Here is just over a third of the first page, with some bits missing as I only have 90% of the colours so far. I'm still finishing off at the bottom though - that's not all missing colours!

Sarah I dont know how you do it! (stitch so fast I mean)
Your dobie is gorgeous and well done for making your own pattern

I bet hes a joy to stitch on 16ct and the flowers and greenery make a lovely background. Are you using 2 strands?

Louise, I bought a software disc off ebay called Life Stitch Simplicity and it created the chart from the photo of the dog.
Stitched on 16 count, the finished piece will be about 10 x 11 inches or thereabouts.

How many pages is the chart?
Great start of course.

I think this chart is only 6 pages, TB and a couple of them aren't full pages, so it won't take me nearly as long as the predator one I made.

This is going to be really good. I love the dog and I love the picture. The way the dog is framed in the picture with the light fence and the flower is just perfect. A photographer as well as a stitcher(oh and a designer as well)

Thank you, Liz - the fact that the dog is perfectly framed and that the flower is a bit out of focus and the dog perfectly in focus were more luck than good judgement. The dog just happened to be sitting on my yard steps where he likes it when it's sunny and I usually just point the camera and snap and hope for the best!
I'll post another photo over the weekend - I'm stitching some of the purple flower at the moment but have a couple of threads missing I need to try and get.
