Van Gogh Avenue of Trees xs-collectible

Post by musings »

Hello all I've been reading this forum for a while, but decided to post now because I'm starting my biggest piece to date! I've no idea if I would ever be able to finish it, but I hope by posting here it will help.

It's the painting "Avenue of Trees" by Van Gogh. Not a well known piece but I fell in love with it at first sight!

http://xs-collectibles.com/detail.aspx?ID=1327

There're approx 98 colours, 25 pages of stitches and I've organised myself and already got started. Will upload pictures soon!

Hello and welcome :)

I  this painting. I actually bought a bundle of 24 charts on e bay a few years back and this one was amongst them but theres no makers name or cover pic so I dont know who its by. It looks an intricate pattern though

Good luck with the start and look forward to seeing the pics :)

Hello and Welcome it is so nice that you joined in at this time. That is a beautiful picture and so full of color it should be so fun to work with. I imagine lots of confetti stitches in some places but so worth it when you can hold it up and say look what I have done. We will watch with interest.

I'm quite a keen fan of Van Gogh, but hadn't seen that piece before.
I love the striking, bold colours, and I'm sure it'll transfer really well to XS

I'll look forward to seeing your progress piccys

That looks like a great project! Lots of vibrant and interesting colors. We'd love to cheer you on while you work on it. I've got several of the xscollectible patterns, but they're all the free monthly patterns that are pieces of their fractals.
Welcome to the group, and hope you enjoy it here! :D

It's a good idea to start a SAL on here as all the encouragement you get from everyones comments, plus seeing your own progress as you upload the pictures, is really motivating.
