Here's the thread for everyone who is going to work on their UFOs during the first week of each month. We're in July tomorrow, so we hope to see lots of people picking up their forgotten work and posting updates so we can give you all encouragement to get them finished.
Here's my dreaded UFO - the Horoscope Sampler thingy some of you will no doubt remember me complaining about several times!
This is where I;ve got to - at least two-thirds done and then I abandoned it!
It will be out again tomorrow night and I shall post a photo for you on July 7th.
Good luck to everyone else who is aiming at finishing a long forgotten project!

yey i cant wait to start this!
are we going to have a new thread every month? or just one long one?
anyway....heres my neglected cows:
Spring Palette 15950/170800 9.33%
Sapphire Birthstone 15120/240000 6.30%
Ari 8840/157850 5.60%
Spring Luna 7840/46620 16.81%
RAE 600/48840 1.22%
Sadness of an angel /118800 0.00%
Nellie / 0.00%
I think we'll just do one long thread starting by putting a photo of our UFO and then at the end of the week put a photo of our progress, then come back to it the next month.
I remember your cows, Kazzi. You were getting on really well, can't wait to see this progress some more.

To be fair it's been my main project for years I've just not been doing enough stitching to finish it!
However with all the work I'm doing on my Mum's surprise present I haven't touched it which is annoying me so I'm going to aim to do at least 1 thread a month just to keep me going.
Big question is do I start the Pegasus (lots of blending and fractionals), or start the second corner border (easier stitching)?
Well, as tomorrow's the 1st, I'll be working on my wedding sampler for my buddy, as I've really been neglecting it of late and I need to get a wriggle on as it has a deadline of 5th September (and that's for framing too!). So, here's how it looks just now:
I'll be picking up where I left off tomorrow and we'll see how much I can get done in a week!
I'll be working on my Trio of Bears. I haven't touched that one since February and all I have left to do is the backstitching . . . and there isn't that much of it to begin with. I just really HATE backstitching. I love how it looks when it's done but there's something about the process I don't like. If I worked on it every day I could probably be done with it this first week.
current project rotation:
Twilight Balloon Flight
The Accolade
Faces of Faery 89
Dad's Flower Pot
So I found the thread shoulda checked before I asked really. Good job I have blonde in my hair lol!
So here is what my UFO should end up looking like
and here is where I am at
My mum bought me this for my 18th birthday and as I will be 30 in a few days I think I better get a wriggle on and finish it and I reckon this is the best way to do it. I love this picture and can't wait to finish it I just never seemed to get round to digging it out of my stash it was always easier to start something else!
I think the millennium sampler is the one I shall be working on http://www.crossstitchforum.com/gallery ... bum_id=134" target="_blank" target="_blank but I have progressed a little since I took this picture. I'll try and post a more up to date picture tonight.
Lovely projects, everyone, this is going to be great fun!
Nettie, that poor horse, abandoned with no head for 12 years! Can't wait to see you finish him.
Well I got my one organised last night with all the threads I need. I'm going to start my finishing the upper right corner and then work my way down the right hand border. There's much less to do than I actually thought. If I can complete those parts this week, the next time we do this I will have three horoscope symbols to do and then the backstitch. There is MILES of backstitch. It's around absolutely everything and in a variety of colours.

Lisa, I love your sampler. Who designed it and where is it from please?
Thanks.
This is going to be so good seeing everything come to life.

I managed to get about 45 minutes on mine this morning before work. Tonight I should have about 3-4 hours spare for stitching so hopefully I might get that top corner finished! Considering I had abandoned my project for about 10 years due to me not liking working on it, I'm amazed at how much I enjoyed starting on it again. It certainly won't be a chore for me to work towards finishing it now.

I have to have a quick tidy around and then I have the rest of day to start!

I hate to worry you Sarah but the fourth horse didn't start to appear until 5 years ago when this was the only project I had to work on. I think I hadn't touched it for a few years before that either! I'm really looking forward to finishing this one as we had good news this week our house should be finished within the next ten weeks so I will have lots of wall space to hang it!
