Iridiscent Aida

Post by silviaciuchi »

I've just bought a piece of beautiful DMC iridescent Aida in light pink. That was just an out of impulse buy, now I don't really know what to do with it!

The colour is interesting, but I suspect it doesn't work well with many colours, so I beg some suggestions from you?

I was contemplating a white blackwork project, but it would probably come out too "washed".

Otherwise, I may make some funky cards out of it, but I would prefer to keep it for a bigger project.

Has any of you worked on light pink Aida, and what did you do with that?

I was thinking just about the same as C_F! Be brave and experiment - that's what impulse buys are for, right? ;)

Can't wait to see what you do with it...

Black would definetely work but I also like to use reds and purples with my pink fabric. I guess you are just going to have to play with it and see where it takes you.

I agree with the monochrom...but not in black...how about one of the inkworks (is that that right name) designs but in a deep rose or something like that? one that is in the same family but just much darker

I'd be tempted to go with a deep pink or a rich purple on such a lovely-sounding fabric and do a complicated-looking blackwork desing on it. :)

How about trying the silouette of birds that some of the girls did - lisa I think and Kins.
They would look fab on the sparkle aida.
