my little wizard bear design that I'm working on has single cross stitches on the top of the design just scattered about, on the pic thats on the front of the kit you can see the threads jumping. I don't really want that for my design and I want to include them. how can I just put a single stitch in?
hopefully someone can help

Hi Charmed,
The solution is the pinhead stitch - directions to be found at this link. I have to say that I have never tried this as yet (never had jumping around single stitches not in the midst of other stitches), so can't vouch for how easy it is. The diagram looks quite clear though.

Or start with a loop start and finish by going through the back of the stitch a few times in a sort of figure of eight, that should keep it secure enough.

I know that I am bad for saying this as most stitchers hate knots but when I have stitches like what you are discribing I just tie a knot. I can make them very small and yet still hold so it works for me.
Sorry to all you stitchers but I still use knots when I feel there is a need.
