This is my new project which I'm stitching for a friend who's now 6 months pregnant. This is what it should look like when done:

Beatrix Potter designs are fabulous (I did Jemina Puddleduck as a card for a friend recently, in my gallery if you want to take a peek) - you'll have such fun stitching these up.

What ply are you using on the afghan fabric? 3? 4? I'd like to stitch an afghan, one day! I'll add it to my list

What a lovely friend you are, this will make a treasured gift! :applesauce: :applesauce:

I have childhood memories of Peter Rabbit too -- and we're talking a LONG time ago. I did a Beatrix Potter Peter Rabbit card for my best friend's granddaughter (page 4 of my Gallery) and seeing this makes me want to do more!

Lovely idea for an afghan! :D

Faith, yes that's Peter Rabbit appearing. He's now got a complete jacket and a bit of a head since yesterday. Just looked at the backstitch chart for him though which is quite horrendous!

Slinky, I'm not sure what ply it is. It's a kit and all the kit says is 100% cotton 14ct afghan fabric, so not brilliantly useful there! It's really soft to stitch on and I have to watch tension carefully as the thread can quite easily slip under the weave of the fabric if I'm not careful.

Ohh I  the Peter Rabbit designs. A couple of months ago I got off ebay 7 booklets containing Beatrix Potter designs (all taken from images in the books) and then last month I found a series of dvds which contained her stories animated.
