My way of thinking is any start is a good start and I <3 the picture. Is this a Julie Fain pic? I adore her work,

It's great to see any start on a HAED! How many colours does this one have?
I love the reflection in the water of this one, will be good to see how it stitches up

Ooo, this will be fun to follow.

This may be a stupid question, but as you know, HAED's are a mystery to me. How did you stitch that grid in and have it not show through??

I believe it has 99 colors.

I used a fabric pen that washes out as Vani pointed out. I didnt even wash either, the stitches are so tight it covers up the marker, but at the end of the project I will wash it to get all the ink out. I've been using them a long time and never had an issue with them
not washing out

I see you are here stateside, so you should be able to find them at Michaels or Joanns in their sewing section.
If you need tips on how to grid, i'd be happy to show you. I will always grid now that I know how - it is SO much easier because I can look to make sure I'm stitching right compared to the chart. I'm a lousy counter sometimes.
