Majestic Eagle SAL- updated May 1st

I am currently working on the Majestic Eagle kit from Sunset. I started this over a year ago, but I was having trouble working stitching into my free time. Now I make sure to take some time for me. I wish I had taken a picture when I started it, but these are the only ones I have, and the eagle is almost complete!
It is being stitched on 16 count dove grey Aida. I use a scroll frame and making tape on the sides to get my desired tension. (I have been successful hinding the tape these 2 pictures.) I guess I am just too lazy to take it off the scroll and try to adjust the tension. This one is so wide though, it is hard to keep good tension on the side.
Ok, here is the picture show. These pictures are a little small because I upload them with my phone instead of my camera.
Here is the first one I took.
After more progress, and the picture of what it will look like.
After more progress
Ok, now back to stitching!

It looks great! I must not let DH see this one. I've stitched him one large and one small eagle with 2 more Dimension Gold eagle kits in my stash waiting (and I keep debating on a third one).

Is one of them the Silent Flight kit? I wish I had seen that kit before I started this one. I just love the color of the sun set. I am making this one for a very patriotic family member who collects anything with a bald eagle on it, but this is going to be the best looking thing they have.

I did one called The Promise by Dimension Gold. It was a Christmas gift in '08, but I had bought the kit and started on it about 10 years earlier. It's the one with the rainbow behind it (but I think it might be discontinued since it's not on their site). In my stash, I have Silent Flight and one that is a bald eagle in front of an American flag. I don't see that one on Dimension's site either so it might be discontinued, too. I know DH will probably want the one with the American flag first, but I am really drawn to Silent Flight. The one I keep debating on is
Eagle's Majesty. I also have an eagle project for DS with a scripture passage on it for when he goes through First Communion in a year or so.

Eagle's Majesty is beautiful! I didn't realize how many eagle designs there are. What a selection.

Your progress is excellent! My mom wanted me to stitch this for her, but my progress is nowhere as good as yours..

keeps visiting me everytime I try and work on it.

Will be enjoying this one to see someone actually stitch it successfully, lol!

Are you stitching it now as well? I have to say I started probably a year and a half ago. I just had to make my stitching a priority. Once I make the time and sit down, boy has it gone fast. I used to get on the computer too much, so my husband is glad I am stitching instead of zoning out on the computer.
I sat down one night so excited because my 6 year old son wanted to watch me. I stitched one length of floss and realized that I had done all my stitching backwards!

Good teaching experience for the both of us.

I'm hoping I can restart it soon; I got it about two years ago and it's been off and on. I need to get new fabric for it though--I accidentally spilled soda on the fabric that came with the kit.

and all the other fabric I have that would be large enough is white not light blue.

I am going to be posting a new picture soon. I think about an hour of work this morning should be enough to finish the eagle, then I am on to the trees!

I wanted to stay up late last night, but I didn't want to be too tired today.
