Hi dear friends, I like cross stich, especially whole cloth stitch. That may take me much more time to finish it, but the end product will appear to be more wonderful!
So what pattern of cross stitch do you like pls? whole cloth or simple line picture? People, plant, flower, sence or animal?
I know many of my foreign friends prefer view site cross stitch, how about you?

well as I am new to crossstitch so i like the smaller patterns. People on here seem to love the HAED's.

I am going to work on a fractal bookmark that appears to be a complete stitched project.

I've only realy done small-to-medium-sized projects so far, but they've been a combination of all-over stitching and partial stitching. I enjoy both.

I'll be starting a HAED storykeep shortly which is all-over stitching. I love Assissi work which makes a point of leaving the motif blank with the background stitched. I also adore samplers which tend to be partial stitching. I guess I just love stithcing full stop!

I don't tend to do people as I'm rarely very fond of the faces depicted in cross stitch and I'm not really a fan of cartoon characters either. That said, I'm busy stitching a Charlie's Ark scene, which shows Charlie from behind. I don't really go for landscapes or florals, but prefer geometric shapes which are often suitable for bookmarks and biscornu. I adore blackwork and very stylised things.

I like soulful stuff... like any painting I'd put on my wall I want the design to be more than just a pretty picture... In order to do that I think it needs to connect with me somehow, which could make the design essentially anything. Like my last big project was a sillouette of a woman pregnant with child and her belly looks like the earth. I was pregnant with my daughter when I worked on it, and it connected with me because I wanted a way to express to my daughter how much she was my world. I really couldn't think of a better way. I probably wouldn't have decided to do that cross-stitch at any other point in my life.
Right now I a picture of my husband's submarine when he deployed in 2007. The sub is just going under a bridge and you can see the sailors standing about on the sub. It's a gorgeous pic but when I put it into my cross-stitch software it takes a lot of the detail out...

I tend to be drawn to flowers and birds mostly. I like to do medium to large pictures, and right now my favorite ones seem to be by Dimensions.

I like whimsical animals, real life animals, Native American designs, Celtics, and veggies/fruits for kitchen towels, etc. I am stitching on HAED but I will probably find it difficult since large designs do take me a long time to finish.

socialsue :D

I like all sorts - I usually do fairly large projects. My favourite subjects to stitch are big cats, fish and dolphins, fruit, Native American themed stuff, sunflowers and HAEDs by Ciro Marchetti.

I haven't got a preference. If I like a design, I'll stitch it.

I am the same as Wendy and Cecilia. I mean there are some I am more attracted to then others :snowman: . @rotfl:

But the one I really dislike are building. They just don't pull me in. I like to have a face to stitch.

I like all the larger designs. I am especially drawn to Japanese designs, elegant ladies and fantasy HAED's. :D

I enjoy doing ones that resemble a painting, usually. Also ones that bring a smile to a person's face. For example, I did a scene where a little boy and girl were in their parents room trying on the clothes etc! Another one was of a dog knocking over a plant and pot.

In our bathroom, there is a small one of a clothes line with some clothes drying and a couple of plants underneath.

The one I am doing at the moment, would not generally be my choice, but I am enjoying it hugely. It is a scene of chickens and cockerals.

I cannot paint, so this is the closest I come to in creating beauty. I like working with high numbers to get fine work.

I'm addicted to breadcloth/basket liners. They're small and relatively quick to finish, so it's better for me. I have an extremely short attention span and don't have any sort of patience to stitch for months on a big project that may never get completed anyway. :D
The only problem with those is managing to hang onto a few to enjoy myself! I've stitched probably around 6-8 of them...and only have 2 in my possession since my friends and family confiscated most of the others.

I dare to say, that stamped Penelope canvases or Aida fabrics are those I like. I like floral ones and bird ones too. And sometimes the ones with animals. I stitch less the ones with people.

I like a variety of designs/styles/stitch cover. Fantasy are probably my favourite - dragons, unicorns, gryphons, wyverns (I have yet to find a really nice wyvern), pegasus... that sort of stuff. I don't like cute - but... Somebunny is an exception to that rule!
Full-cover stitching looks wonderful. But I haven't done any. Teresa Wentzler is the nearest I've got so far - but have got 3 HAEDs waiting to be done. :D

I like a variety of designs too. I'm a big fan of Told in a Garden and Prairie Schooler. I like florals and animals, Native American and/or southwest, Oriental (Chinese & Japanese) and I like stitching breadcloths and kitchen towels for gifts. I also like the Mill Hill kits designed by Debbie Mumm and Jim Shore.

I had never heard of HAED before coming here. They are very impressive and I would love to do their Turandot, but I'm not sure I'm up for taking on something that big right now!

Can't really say what sort of stitch I like best as I have only just started my first project. I know that there are lots of different fabrics and stitches to try out and I'm looking forward to giving them a go once I have some more experience.

As for pictures - I love fantasty: unicorns, dragons, pegasus but not cartoony-type fantasy pics. I also love fantasy/dream landscapes - recently bought a Robert Kinkade garden scene as the colours are lovely and it has a great dream-like quality that is very peaceful.

Would love to try a HAED design but need to wait till I am confident working on evenweave :D
