Country French Horn FINISHED--May 9, 2010

Post by pamelam »

Well, I decided to put Honey Bear on hold for a while. Maybe I'll get him out again in the fall because of all the dark colors in him. Right now I feel like doing something lighter. I got this for my birthday last monthImage I'm going to make it for my daughter. It comes with pre-printed 14 count aida. I'm going to do it on 18 count white aida instead, as Elizabeth only wants the center motif of the french horn, and I don't really like working on 14 count very much. Elizabeth wants to put it in an oval frame when it's done. Once I get a fair amount done on it, I'll post a picture.

I started this one on March 15, 2010. I haven't gotten a whole lot done on it, as I am railroading the stitches and I just haven't spent as much time on it as I would like.

Very pretty. Okay so I know now what railroading is but what effect does it have on the project?

Well, from what I can see when I railroad (which isn't very often), the stitches seem to lay flatter. I should also mention that I'm using 18 ct. aida, which causes the threads to kind of bunch up if I don't railroad. It seems like the needle comes up smoother and doesn't move the previous stitches I've done out of their position. I hope I explained that alright.
