Thank you

I have to admit though this is the hardest design I have ever worked on. Usually I am so proud of the back of my work as it is always pristine but this one - not so much. There are so many color and thread changes that I was first very worried about becoming frustrated sewing this. The other problem I will face is framing. This is a MASSIVE picture I am doing. The final size will be 32 x 36. Now I have done 30 x 30 but never on a 28ct linen.
I am really focused on getting this done. I have done so many and gave them away or had them placed oin art galleries that the last one I sewed for my daughter was when she was 8 or so. Now she is almost 18 and I asked her "What would be the one thing you want this year?" I figured she would say laptop. Instead she asked for this picture.
So every time I start to get frustrated I just remind myself that this was the "one thing" she wanted this year above all other usual teenage desires. She is my inspiration to get this done before her birthday in October.

Oh I am changing the picture a bit. I am going to add tiny seashells to the bottom and for her necklace I purchased really small seahorses, seashells and a sea star. Also I found a cute amber looking crown I will be sewing onto her head as well.
The final cross stitch will look like this:
http://shoppe.whitewillowstitching.com/ ... od_86.html" target="_blank
That is the view before I add my "extras". After doing one picture with bead work I have ended up adding something extra to every piece I do. I am really excited about making this one perfect for my daughter.
For the frame I am thinking of a plain white one then I might glue some tiny seashells along the outside of it unless I can find a seashell frame that works. Do you think that would be too much - adding the frame with seashells?

This is a stunning design and you are making fantastic progress. I like the idea of the shell necklace, it sounds wonderful

It's nice to follow kids' suggestions when choosing a new project and I must say your daughter has incredibly good taste!
As for the difficulty of this new project, I think that we should take challenges sometimes, even if that results in less than perfect backs (I'm sure nobody makes perfect backs on such complex designs!).
Happy stitching!

This is beautiful.
If you're not sure about the frame, pick out a white one and just set the shells on it, without glue, to see how it looks. It may be better plain, as it may distract from the picture - or it may set it off perfectly. You'll know as soon as you see it!!

Think its a great idea to add the embellishments to your sewing,it will make even more stunning then she is now.And i would go for a plain frame as it may look to much or a frame with a bit of a distressed look / colour ?.
