Kell's 2010 Projects

Post by kell »

Obviously I have several ongoing projects, but I thought I'd just stick all my projects for this year into one thread.

I won't add the ones I've already stitched (as I've already finished quite a number of small projects - I'll just go on from now and leave links to the ones I've already finished.

Already finished in 2010
Charlie's Falling Star

Ongoing for this year is the Basket of Biscornu challenge, where I aim to stitch one biscornu each month so I have a dozen new ornaments for my Xmas tree at the end of the year.

I'm working on several pieces at the moment, but the ones I'm working on most are an ATC for an exchange (I'll post a pic when it's finished) on the theme "Stitch a smile".

I'm also stithcing one of my own little designs for my hallway - Baa Baa Blackwork Sheep.

I also intend to very shortly begin work on another of my own designs (again for my hallways) - NATO Phonetics Subversive Sampler.

Elder son who is a radio operator in the TA says that this is exactly the call sign they use! He's demanding I do it for him. A hit, I think, Kell.

Well, if you DO stitch it, please send me a photo so I can display it as the model for the blog. :) He might also like the "FUBAR" one I'm planning...

I'm considering a Lima Oscar Lima or something similar for my next NPSS - I thought doing a little series of them might be a lot of fun. ;)

I'm also considering a mini-series of Facebook ones (for all those FB addicts), so watch thisspace!

I've begun work on my April biscornu which will be a little different from the others so far (if I can get it to work - I hope I can!)...

Well, you'll have heard of 15-sided biscornu? Well, I recently saw one which was made with 6 pieces - two larger ones and 4 snaller ones which were exactly half as high and wide as the larger pieces. So, I'm using a design I found at Blackwork Journey (not revealing which on e at this point though - gotta leave part of it as a surprise!) and then adapting part of it for the smaller pieces (and I'll be adding my details to one of the smaller pieces too) and hoping that it works out. fingers crossed.

Wow, the 6-sided biscornu looks great! I might do one, too, soon... I was thinking to try the 15-sided one, but there is no hope of me doing 15 small pieces... this looks much more managable

Can't wait to see what you come up with...

I finished my 6-faced biscornu last night, so I'll be posting pics later on. I'm really pleased with how it turned out, although I now wish I'd put in just a touch more stuffing. Ah well, hindsight and all that...

I finished Baa Baa Blackwork Sheep this afternoon while Xan slept, so it's now washed and drying. I'll iron it and take a photo tonight as I plan to frame it and hang it in my hallway. :)

Also started stitching my Friendship Exchange Biscornu, but I'll not be revealing that till it's been received by the recipient...
