anyone know what this is in the old varigated threads as i have those and would rather use that for a project i am kitting up.

I don't think it equates to a varigated color. These are new color combinations.

Yeah the varigated and variations are two different types. Took me a while to figure out

This is one of their new 'variations' threads, guess what I got in the mail this very monring? variations 4070! Would you believe it? it is one of the skeins for my latest work from the magazine to stitch up, I have never used it before but guess I will be finding out very quickly!

thanks for the info. looks like i may have to purchase one, but i think i will take my variations colours with me and if it is really close woirk out a match myself as it''s not a big project and only has small areas of this thread, and not all together in a block but just a couple here and there..

I ended up buying one as i took my varigated threads in and there was nothing similar. Might i add I was not impressed at paying $3.25 for one thread but no point in buying from overseas/net at the moment, no mail is moving fast. stupid volcano

Wow that's a lot to pay for one skein of the variations thread--I just bought a skein of the same thread today, for that same project, along with 5 other normal dmc colors. Our craft store sells the variations threads for $1.29 US but I had a coupon and ended up paying only 65 cents--tis a shame you had to pay so much for it--esp as there really isn't that much used in the pattern. Should look very nice though when it is stitched up!!
