If I recall correctly Mable did something like this for a coaster that she had made maybe she will see this and reply or you could send her a PM and ask what she had done.

Good luck it sounds like a great idea!!!!!!!

I've heard this suggested before. I'd definitely test it first and if I did I think I would try it on the back of the stitching first to see how it dried.

Yes, I used it for a coaster and it worked just fine. It does take a fair amount of glue, and you must let it dry throughly. The only slight problem I ran into was that if it gets damp or wet, the glue will go liquid again -- something that makes it not quite such a good solution for a coaster, which is there to catch drips :-)! But for something that will be mounted it should be all right, even though in very very damp/humid weather it may feel a just a little sticky to the touch (I only ever noticed this once, and it didn't affect the piece afterwards).
Good luck!

PS you could also laminate it, or edge it with buttonhole stitch and cut it, or edge it with four-sided stitch -- that is very sturdy and durable, and looks decorative too:

You can get ring binders with a clear pocket on the front that you could maybe just slip it into.

Or how about going the whole hog and making a lovely fabric cover for the folder and attaching it to that.
