Barb - Ignore Royal Mail. They won't care. Do let the seller know though, that's only fair.

Today is my birthday and my best friend sent me this:

http://crossstitchers.com/shop/store.ph ... CSB264-152" target="_blank" target="_blank

It's huge! More stash! I have warned her not to expect it anytime soon.

Totoro - see the film My Neighbour Totoro. It's a very sweet Japanese animation.

Totoro are forest sprites. My friend crocheted me the blue one, I'm going to stitch the grey one.

The postperson brought me some nice stuff from Nordic Needle. I now have 25 count Jobelan, 20 count Lugana and 28 count Lugana. I also got myself a bottle of Fray Check (and it works like magic!). I'm off, prepping my fabric for my first HAED: QS Oliana Otter.

Ugh.. isn't that the worst! I feel like a kid on Christmas when I get a note saying a package is waiting for me.. I want to camp out at the post office and be there right when they open. Its ridiculous.. I usually know exactly what is there waiting for me as I ordered it only days before.

Bad SewandSo - bad!! Worse than Bad Amazon!! Yet more goodies coming my way - a birth sampler for my friend who is about to pop, some thread heaven as now I'm playing with metallics, and another design I have forgotten what it is, shows you should NOT shop late at night!!

Given its SewandSo it will be here beautifully soon - they really are the best!!

You go to the Postcrossing website and get an address and a unique postcard ID to put on a postcard to send to someone, somewhere else in the world. As soon as they get it and register it as received, another person sends a card to you. The fun part is, you never know who you're going to send to or who will be sending to you. It's fun :)

Actually, it's already a week ago tomorrow that I recieved some lovely stuff from a swap that I took part in. You're making a pin cushion to someone, and sending some ribbons, yarn, beads etc. along with it, and some candy :D Mine was from Lotta in Sweden (and I made for her). A cute pastry pin cushion, lovely linnen yarn, some beads and buttons, and yummy candy

I'm still waiting for my WOCS, and an order from 123stitch.com...

Lovely stuff Marte, love that pin cushion.

I received stuff I'd ordered from Sewandso and Polstitches today, soooooo happy. And chuffed at the great service and speed, only ordered it all on the 20th so just took 10 days to Abu Dhabi :D

From Polstitches I ordered a grab bag with Aida and one with evenweave (without linen), and 10 skeins of dragonfloss (my first dragonfloss, already addicted, although can't think of a single project which is good enough to 'waste' my precious floss on :? )

Here are my fabrics and floss

And here is just the floss

From Sewandso I ordered some white 25-count lugana for my HAEDs, 28-count Brittney pearl flecked white for a Xmas round robin, 2 x 18-count waste canvas, 14-count waste canvas, Kreinik Very fine braid (for HAED), Kreinik Blending filament (for kicks), Thread Heaven and fabric marker for gridding :)

Here is the whole lot

And here is my lovely sparkling evenweave

The only worrying thing about this stash is I've bought a rather large amount of evenweave for someone who has never stitched on it before

Oh and the reason for ordering all this evenweave was because the stitch shop here in AD doesn't have any. Well I was wrong, went to buy aida this week and by chance looked up on the wall opposite the aida fabrics, row upon row of lovely coloured evenweave, they have more of a choice of them than aida  Oh well hope I like stitching on them :D

It's called Green Branch, it's on Electra (7th Street) between Airport Rd (2nd) and Muroor Rd (4th). If you've ever been to the Hamad center (not to be confused with Hamdan Center) it's pretty much right next to it.

DMC cotton is 2 dhs, metallics and light effects 7 dhs, varigated says 7 dhs but I'm only ever charged 2 dhs for it. They had some other DMC as well (maybe perle no 5?) the skeins are bigger than the normal xs cotton and twisted around. Anyways they were 3 dhs. No linen, no rayon, no satin and no variations.

Anchor is similarly priced, don't think they have the whole cotton range though, and nothing else (like metallics or variations)

Have no idea what the evenweaves cost but will let you know once I've bought some. For aida it obviously depends on which count you buy(these are as closely I can remember the prices):
18-count - 47.5 x 153.4 cm - 40 dhs,
16-count - 100 x 140 cm - 90 dhs
11-count - 81.5 x 92 cm - 50 dhs
