Antique Rose

I was browsing through a 'junk' store yesterday and found this lovely antique cross stitch rose. It's stitched one over one, not sure of the fabric. And I love the unusual frame, even though it has a nick or two. I also loved the price: just $10!

Oh it is lovely.....but it makes me feel sad that someone sat and made this painstakingly one over one....and yet it has been sold for just $10. Sorry to put a downer on it but I always look at my work and hope my family keep it......lol.
It is lovely though and I would have snapped it up!

! Is the fabric perhaps silk gauze? It has that "open" look.

Not a downer - in fact, that's just what I was thinking when I found it! Actually I think it was made for a store to sell. The original old sticker with the store name is still on the back.

Offe - yes it does have glass.

Mabel - I think it may be silk gauze. It's a very open fabric.
