If we don't have a winner today, I will definitely be surprised! I'll be watching my PMs for most of the day, and will try to be prompt if anyone sends me a bingo message.
Here are today's picks:
Shepherd Derrial Booke
Fanty and Mingo
Reavers
Shepherd Booke is likely the most enigmatic member of the crew on Serenity. While he definitely exhibits the characteristics and traits of a devoutly religious man who has dedicated his life to God and bringing religiousity to all the fuzzy-wuzzies in far reaches of space, he also has some mystery to him. Known and respected to the Alliance, a very good shot, and knowledge of Alliance military habits points to a past he hasn't fully explained. My favourite episode with Booke is 'Jaynestown': PUT THE HAIR AWAY NOW, PREACHER!
Fanty and Mingo appear in the movie 'Serenity'. Don't those two names just roll off your tongue? These curiously handsome young men are twins, and toward the beginning of the movie close a deal with Mal and his crew. They also get to witness River Tam showing off her fancy fighting abilities.
Reavers are the equivalent to boogeymen on Firefly. Only thing is, they're real as can be. Rumor has it they were pushed to the edge of space and went a little crazy in all that black. The secret to these people, 'cause that's what they are, is revealed in 'Serenity'. They enjoy self-mutilation, they love to torture and terrorize their victims, pain and anguish are their very best friends, and they eat their victims. Sometimes while they're still alive.

Confirmed! kell is our winner! Congratulations kell!
Later this afternoon, I'll post the last three that didn't get drawn (by popular demand, lol). I had such a blast hosting this bingo, I hope to win again someday to do it again!

Re: Newest Bingo FIREFLY / SERENITY ~~ SHINY!! We have a WIN
Ok, as promised, here are the 3 names that were not chosen:
Vera
Simon Tam
The Dortmunder
Vera was the name of Jayne's very favourite gun. He offers, reluctantly, to trade her (yes, her) for Saffron, Mal's new wife acquired 'under the influence' in the episode 'Our Mrs Reynolds'.
Simon Tam, or more proper-like, Dr Simon Tam, is River's brother. He is a very talented doctor and had a set future of a comfortable life as a rich and intelligent man. He threw it all away to save River from the experimentations of a secret Alliance project.
The Dortmunder is the Alliance cruiser (ship) that flushed out the crew of Serenity during a salvage operation in the pilot episode. Of course, Serenity was able to get away using the ol' crybaby trick, but not before a notice was put out on the cortex about their doings.
There isn't much in the way of patterns that are Firefly related. I found a couple, but it's unknown to me how 'legal' they are (I'm still shady on the whole 'inspired by' patterns, and if it's legal for the makers to use the name Firefly in that way to market the patterns). I'm slowly learning the right way to do this! Anyway, here is a blog by a fan who makes a few patterns:
http://cthulhucrochet.blogspot.com/2010 ... titch.html" target="_blank
and another one on Etsy:
http://cthulhucrochet.blogspot.com/2010 ... titch.html" target="_blank
I also have a project going of a pattern I made for myself, a future gift for my husband (I'll post an update soon):

Yay! Glad it got to you relatively quickly. I do feel like a dufous though, as I think I forgot to take the price tag off the kit
Have you worked with those DMC Variations before? I'm finding I really like them, compared to other types.

Re: Newest Bingo FIREFLY / SERENITY ~~ SHINY!! We have a WIN
Ketta, I honestly didn't even notice it and will now make a point of not noticing when I go back to it either!
I love DMC variations. I love any variegated floss or silk, really, but these come in such a nice range of colours and are lovely to work with. And I loe DMC linen floss too, so a double treat there!
I've already decided I'm going ot make a cushion cover with the afghan material - I just have to decide on the design(s) I'll use. Perhaps I'll chart some specially...
I only hope the winner of the True blood Bingo loves their prize as much as I love mine!
