Happy new year

even though for me im not fussed ha, well now that i have all my sewing to myself and my projects, time to get them started! not really going to do them much though. I'll slowly carry on with my macaw but the confetti stitching just sounds daunting after rushing with my friends present, so i have a new project which i'm hoping to make into a wall hanging at the end, bought for me by my friend in the Netherlands so its quite unusual including the brand! But i also did sew a quick card for my parents Silver anniversary with a chart out of the latest World of Cross Stitching mag

already started it though not got much done it is Riolis Cross stitch kit even though there is no name for the piece itself (or it is but in a complete different language

)

a great card. so cute. and your new project is going to be lovely. Stitched on the black fabric too. I admire that. Good start on it though. The colors are going to just stand out beautifully.

Wow- I am in love with the bird pattern oh my word- it is going to be amazing! Will be keeping an eye out for progress pictures.

All your projects are amazing. I saw that anniversary card what a brilliant one it is and I am sure they loved it.

That new Riolis kit is amazing - looking forward to the updates on it.

PS I was curious so had a nosey at Riolis web site. The kit is called Bird of Paradise.

I just love those colours.

Just a small update, but I am really enjoying doing The Birds of Paradise (thanks sally

) loving the colours standing out while im sewing it, tbh i dont think this one will take me very long to do!, surprisingly finding sewing on black fabric quite easy maybe because its only 14 count and ive got quite strong eyes! (maybe not by the time ive finished it haha) might do a bit on my macaw soon as its shouting to me to do its confetti stitching ^^ and I have missed it.

I'm trying to resist buying any other kits/charts at the moment as i have loads but I did find a gorgeous Riolis one which would of been great for my room! http://www.sewandso.co.uk/products/bons ... r1036.aspx, curse being a stitcher sometimes! I'm having to use a lot of self control from buying this! as i already have two on the go haha

btw does anybody know of any good cross stitch bell pull how to's? as wanna make the birds into one to go on my wall after its finished (bit like a Chinese scroll bellpull)

The colours will brighten up anyone's day, just so vibrant, and I love the kit you want to buy, so delicate, but I love Japanese ones anyway.

Excellent progress! I'm not sure about the bellpull, but some members have made some, so you could try a search on the forum or just on the web. I think it's mauveme that has made some brilliant ones.
