I love outdoor stitching season

Post by wwdiva »

 sitting on my verandah stitching in the summer. Thought I would share my little piece of heaven.

My big feet and the view from my chair.

Those who keep me company... My dog Sophie. Not sure if DH would be thrilled with this shot. Son gone camping but usually we all hang out here.

Yikes, an empty wine glass. My helpers are slipping up!

A little of my back garden. We back onto a forest and creek so lots of chirping birds and running water for sound effects.

Unfortunately because of my cataract surgery, I am unable to garden but with the heat today, it's best just to look.
Thanks for looking and knowing a little bit more about me.
Cheers :toast:

:applesauce: What a lovely and perfect place to stitch. I hope you continue to have good weather as in your photos so you can enjoy it throughout your recuperation from your surgery.

What an absolute perfect place to stitch! Your dog is gorgeous! I do a fair amount of stitching outdoors myself but my view is much different from yours...My backyard seems to be the hub for the neighborhood 8-11 yr old boys with lots of trampoline jumping, Nerf wars, squirt gun fights, etc....
Your garden is beautiful and must be a joy to have around you.
I do have a very active bird-feeding station that seems to stay busy despite the ruckus of kids around.

Our son is now early 20's but our yard was like yours back when. Wouldn't dare try to stitch outdoors then as I'm sure it would have fallen victim to a good drenching from a gang of super soaker bearing boys.
We are unable to have bird feeders as they attract bears. I would love to have one but not eager to drop my stitching to flee an unwanted visitor.

 I don't blame you one bit! The most I have to worry about is a squirrel or two!

Beautiful photos!! Oh how I envy you having a nice enough climate to enjoy stitching outside. Here in Florida, it's just too hot/humid most of the year :tantrum: :tantrum:

Beautiful place to stitch! Mine isn't as pretty but I do like sitting out on my deck during the nice days.

What an amazing view to stitch with. Your yard is gorgeous. I am not one to enjoy yard work so I do not have as nice a view. But I do like to sit on the front porch and stitch. Not lately with the heat but lots of times we are out there all day Sunday just relaxing.

Fantastic stitching spot! My house backs up to a lake and during the summer is both too hot and there are too many bugs for me to even think of stitching outside!

wow! great views! you are so lucky! I have social phobia so dont venture outside much incase I have to interact with my neighbours.
I do have a front porch that I want to put a privacy screen up so can then sit out there and stitch, hopefully I wont have to drag my light out too.

you are so lucky to be able to stitch outside. doesnt work so well for me. the wind is just a bit too constant, patterns, floss and other light weights have to be weighted down, its not worth the hassle.

your garden is beautiful! come work my garden, a green thumb I am not!

Thanks for sharing the pictures and what a great place to stitch. I love hearing about your lives over there (bears in gardens!) just as much as sharing stitching :applesauce:

That looks like a lovely place to stitch!

I've occasionally tried stitching out doors but the slightest bit of wind always catches the pattern, so I gave up on it. I will have to give it another go when the weathers good along with some trusty stones to hold down the pattern (I love being outside, and usually end up reading instead)
