Thankfully, my stitching companion is much too large to fit in my lap!

My Merlin who has gone from our lives used to assume a lap frame was a hammock for his personal use.Floss was for wrecking!!!

Oh dear the joys to come -again.

Jackson looks so comfortable I can quite understand why you don't want to move him. Poor fellow is tired out with playing with the floss.

Thankfully Tuppence has so far avoided my lap when I have been stitching on my frame but does like to pinch my bobbins if I am stitching in hand. Very helpful - not.

But we love them just the same don't we. :kitty:

Occasionally one of my pups tries to climb into my lap, which is usually a non starter with the frame! Neither are lap dogs either! (Labradoodle and lurcher). But the cat often sits in my lap when I stitch.

The main problem I find is not floss hostage situations, but a myriad of "speciality" thread in my stitching.....thank god for my tweezers....

When my kids were still here in town and I was dogsitting daily for them (Samoyeds), I would find beautiful silver tipped white "fibers" in my stitching and in my crocheting. I'd pick out the obvious ones from the stitching and figured it just made the afghans even warmer...and more personal. :-)

SOOOOOO CUTE! I have 2 cats and 3 dogs so it's quite interesting. I have a large craft bag with quilts I'm working on, red work, embroidery etc. One night I forgot to zip it up all the way and in my haste to leave for work the next morning, grabbed the bag and headed for the car. When I threw the bag on the seat, I nearly jumped out of my skin because my cat, Kitty LaRue, had crawled in there and was buried under the 2 quilts.

Only recently has Betsy (My 16week Dachshund) gotten big enough to jump up next to me. This was last night.

Yes...it seems to be a common issue! In case someone hasn't said it already, the pet hair that inevitably makes it's way into a finished project is a 'feature'.

Here are a couple of my stitching buddies. I need to get bigger ones, like LilacDragon's big woofer perhaps, to avoid lap occupancy (they'd probably still find a way!)

Sookie, the 5 pound 'doglet' and Opia, the bitty little siamese that has hair that shows up on everything.
