Re: Song of the Weather SAL - August and onwards!
Lovely stitching everyone Just downloaded November which looks very intersting to stitch. I must stitch my October though, having got side tracked with other projects in October and very enjoyable visits to London and Devon this last week. I'm off to visit the SotW Gallery again.
Re: Song of the Weather SAL - August and onwards!
November is stunning. I still have October to do also. I think every month has been more beautiful than the next. I am just loving these! Thank you Mabel.

Just worked out November's colour scheme. Itching to start it now but it will have to wait until tomorrow night as I have a group fitness session tonight. Glad I got a new pair of the scissors I like to use for hardanger cutting at the show with all the cutting involved in this one!

stitching this, thank you Mabel. I've said it before but this one is in my favourite top three. I thought pulling the threads through the klosters would be tricky but it wasn't.
Threads used : DMC Perle #5 and 8 white, Dinky Perle #5 and 8 31 Choco Latte,
DMC Perle #8 840 and DMC Perle #5 839.

Re: Song of the Weather SAL - August and onwards!
As I was stitching November I got to thinking - as you do - about all the stitches in this SAL, except two or three, that I hadn't done before.
So I counted them and including Klosters and the various wrapped bars there are 50 to date - yes 50.
Quite an achievement Mabel in 11 designs so far.

Beautifully worked, Louise, and that Choco Latte shade is just scrumptious! Your picots have come out nice and even -- I noticed yesterday that the four I've done on my speciality version are all different widths
Glad the double-sided Klosters proved easier than you thought .
I tried to put in as many different stitches as I could; mind you, I may have shot myself in the foot a bit as I'll have trouble finding as many new ones for the next SAL...

Oh very very nice Louise, and very quick too
And thank you, you've made my mind up to do the coloured Klosters too
I've only just printed the pattern out as we had a mini problem with the printer
Yes, I have learnt a lot of new stitches too. Thanks Mabel, and we won't mind at all if you duplicate a lot of them for the next SAL.

Very pretty Louise! I also agree that learning the new stitches has been so much fun. I have really enjoyed that and need to really think seriously about the Papillon SAL. I have to catch up on downloading the parts but learning new stitches is fun. Love that you are talking about the next SAL Mabel. You are right though, you have set the bar very high for yourself with how beautiful this one has been!

Very pretty Louise!
And aren't you quick off the mark! Delicious colours!!!
I've loved learning new stitches.....some I haven't liked as much as others...but that's all part of the learning, isn't it!

And at the end of the SAL you ditch the ones you didn't like, and keep and re-use the ones you did !wendywombat wrote:I've loved learning new stitches.....some I haven't liked as much as others...but that's all part of the learning, isn't it!

Re: Song of the Weather SAL - August and onwards!
AT LAST!!! My October!!
I had such a problem with those corner spiders web roses....so I've stitched some Special Wombat Roses instead! ( I asked 'Our Mabel' first!! )
They have a french Knot in the centre!
Then I thought my pistil stitches looked too fat in #5 so I did them in #8.
In Yellow!! Out came the and I re-did them in Blue...much better!
The ribbon is 'Lucky Old Sun' by Gloriana....lovely to work with!!
