Bassetluv's stitches - Animal Sampler finish 2/1/16

Hi all! I used to post on this board awhile back, but got addicted to HAEDs a couple of years ago and migrated to that board, though I've continued lurking and admiring all of your beautiful work! Well now I have kid #2 on the way (first is 9 years old) and between the baby brain, nausea and first trimester exhaustion I haven't had the patience for my HAEDs during the last month and a half. So I finally picked up one of my UFOs that hasn't gotten any love in over a year! It's nice to work on something without 60 - 90 colors and a ton of confetti for a change.

This is the Ink Circles SAL piece called "Roll Your Own" started in 2013. I just finished page 4, minus a couple of small bits that I'll take care of when I work the next page.



Next up is another one of my UFO SAL pieces - Around the World in 80 Stitches by Papillon Creations. From what I can tell it's been 2 years since I last gave it some love! Not sure if I'll have the patience for the specialty stitches, if not then I may make a new start, probably something from an old Just Cross Stitch magazine.

I agree completely! And hope that you will post pics of your HAED projects here as well as on the HAED BB! That way members who aren't on the HAED BB can enjoy your progress on those pieces as well. Looking forward to your updates and so glad you are back!

Thanks everyone! FCCS - mostly ok but that's because I've been hiding inside where there is AC! Yesterday was the exception - I went down to Denver to take my mom out to lunch and the aquarium for her bday and didn't factor in the fact that DH's car has a broken AC. Mine has AC but started having mechanical issues a few days ago and won't go above 30 mph. I spent 4+ hours in a super hot car which was no fun. I'm taking my car into the shop tomorrow so hopefully won't have that problem again. I hope you are staying cool as well!

So I realized that I am out of the DMC variegated thread I need to outline each section of Around the World. I originally bough it at Michael's but they no longer have it, so will need to do an online order. Instead I picked up another UFO, Oriental Orchids by Dimensions. I'm a bit embarrassed to say that this one had been sitting at 98% complete for 16 months! I finished up the last bit of back stitching and half stitches in the border. It's also supposed to have about a thousand gold metallic half stitches inside the square, but I decided a long time ago that it would never get finished if I tried to do those (they are a huuuuuge pain in the butt), so I'm calling it done!!

No A/C to and from Denver? Ugh! A couple weeks ago I went down to Keenesburg to the Wild Animal Sanctuary - brilliant sun, hot!! The A/C in the car felt really good on the way home.

I was looking at the pictures on your blog - so many beautiful pieces there. Do you know the name of the design with the three giraffes? I really like it.

Happy 4th of July!!

I received my variegated DMC in the mail yesterday and spent today working on the next part of "Around the World in 80 Stitches," a Papillon SAL that is long completed but that I would still like to finish some day. Seems I am feeling well today because I spent at least half of the day stitching and managed to knock out the whole part!

I'm going to keep working on this one for awhile and hopefully keep up a good momentum!
