Just wanted to say hi. . .
Hello all,
Just a brief note to introduce myself. I've been cross-stitching since I was 6 or 7, but I tend to stitch intesively for a few years and then stop for another few. I've been quite ill for a couple of years now, and my concentration & focus has become quite poor, so I thought cross stitch would be a really good way to try and exercise those muscles again
I'm really enjoying it again, although everything takes 10 times what it used to and I have to unpick so many stitches because of mistakes. (I never used to grid my fabric but need to now, and even that was error-strewn
Also my eyes are wayyyyyy bigger than any time I might have to stitch. I'm always finding new charts, starting, and then abandoning them for something shinier.
Anyways, it's lovely to meet you all. Looking through the previous threads everyone seems incredibly helpful and supportive!
Best wishes
Lá

Welcome from the West of Scotland! I have to tell you, though, that you have put yourself at the mercy of a veritable nest of enablers... We love shiny new designs. And we love to see what you are working on, too.

Hello and welcome to the forum from South Carolina!! It is good to hear that you are loving your return to stitching! I'm sure it will help your focus and concentration. A lot of us can identify with having enough projects to last a few lifetimes. I know I do. But have finally come to the conclusion that SABLE (Stash Acquisition Beyond Life Expectancy) is a hobby all by itself. Some people collect stamps. I collect charts, threads, and assorted stitching accessories. Looking forward to getting to know you.

Hello from Colorado and welcome to the forum. I'm glad you're back to stitching, and don't let the fact that it takes longer now worry you. It's about the joy and relaxation, not about the speed. Easily distracted by new projects? Oh boy, you'll fit right in here.

Serinde was right... we are a bunch of enablers around here. I'll attest to that too - I joined this forum earlier this year and I think my stash has tripled in size!

Thanks
The internet has a lot to answer for! Back when I could only choose from the small selection of kits in my local craft shop, I was never so bad. But then I'd always struggle to find things I wanted to stitch. Now there is literally something for everyone's tastes only a click away and it soooooooo tempting

Hi and Welcome from lovely cool Brisbane. One has to be very strong with oneself to not look at all the tempting designs which are out there. Enjoy it all.

Hello and welcome from Central Scotland. Enjoy your return to stitching and don't worry about speed. It's the pleasure we get from the process as much as the finished project that a lot of us enjoy.
