With a reddish tinge I suspect. Majestic Blue maybe, or Nitrogen, if you were an ink.

The reveal will come as the picture grows...

Well, when I saw your photo I thought it was Ken Dodd, even before I read the other replies and indeed it is Doddy, Squire of Knotty Ash and King of the Jam Butty Mines.

I went to one of his shows in the 80's and it was hilarious, my sides were aching the next day from laughing the whole night and it is true about how his shows over-ran. It was supposed to end at 11.15pm and we left the theatre at 12.50. Such a loss.

Your stitching is so lovely and neat and even and such a good likeness, is it from a photo?

I was supposed to go see him but ended up in hospital having my son early, it was almost 10 years before i managed to actually see him, he was brilliant oh we laughed till we cried, I cried again when he passed away and i don't normally for "celebs", he bought so much joy to so many people

What a lovely tribute to your wonderful and sadly missed friend, it is so lifelike even half done, please keep us updated xx
