Serinde wrote: Fri Sep 04, 2020 8:49 am You know how I needed a coffee after buying most of the stash I need for 3 HAEDs plus some fabric for this wedding card. Now you can see why:

 That's a lot of Bobbinating! I think several cups of coffee in order there!
Shame that I shall be self-isolating ...I could have given you a hand!

@ Mabel....Well what else could you do???

@WW: I shan't be bombinating it any time soon, so you never know...
Mabel Figworthy wrote: Fri Sep 04, 2020 9:38 am Is it because so many of the threads are coffee coloured :-) ?

(Have just placed an order for some wool. I needed new shades for a new design. Realised postage is £5 (that's over three skeins!) unless you order £50 worth. Ordered £51....)
Well, yeah. Obviously.

And regarding my stash, the colours are a bit on the coffee side, but the pieces tend toward the dark and mysterious, with the exception of Tree of Creation, where I already had the reds and blues which brighten it up.

Next is to do some sampling on 25ct 1 over 1 -- I'd like to avoid 2 x 1 if I can manage it.

I'm pretty sure that the HAEDs I'm doing are on 25 ct 1 over 1 (not sure though could be 28 ct. Have to look way back on my posts to check). 2 over 1 on 25 ct only worked for me when I did a tent stitch. What fabric are you planning on? I love the richness of all those colors together.

My crewel wools arrived from Catkin Crown Textile Studio (highly recommended, they are a lovely and very helpful hisband-and-wife team).

These are the wools I needed for a new design:

And these are the ones I got to qualify for free postage

A few essentials I had to get for the goldwork module starting this Wednesday. One or two other things may have sneaked in while I wasn't looking...

Cant wait to see what lovely creations you turn these supplies into. And there are always stowaways in every stash order. I imagine you are often chosen by them because you do such beautiful and creative projects.

It is continually amazing that so many other 'little things' seem to creep into ones order. I think there must be an elf at work somewhere. :D
Love that fabric. :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

Wow what a great stash Mabel! I adore those fabric colours especially the green one!

The most recent copy of World of Cross Stitching has a free Beatrix Potter 2021 calendar included (my absolute idol) so have started The Tailor of Gloucester as it's my Mums favourite of the tales :) hope it looks as good as the model stitch when finished xxx

What a great calendar! And knowing your track record so far, he will come out absolutely perfectly.

I nearly missed all these wonderful things! I did receive 34 DMCs for my towel and Map yesterday. But I cant help looking at Mabel's wools (and silks) and Nicola's new designs, as well as Serinde's threads of all shades of golden autumn.

We, cross stitchers, obviously are... well, special people. I have not receieved anything yet, just have ordered 1.5 metres of 1.5 m wide 14 count white Zweighart Aida which will arrive on Tuesday, but am already in one of my best moods. Now I may relax and stitch the Map.
