My Disney project update pic 10th oct page 51

Post by paul »

I've had an idea for a Disney montage cross stitch for years

I started it 2 years ago but the I couldn't find any Disney cross stitches as certain companys lost there Disney contracts so I thought my project would never happen, as I only had a very limited number of designs.

But after putting a post in the wanted section I now have Disney charts galore so I can now carry on with this This is one project that I'm excited and eager to get on with.

My idea I have for this is just to fill a big piece of aida up with just Disney characters heroes and villains, having trouble with villains still. Don't seem to many cross stitches of them about. I'd love the wicked queens but no luck so far. May have to design my own but I'm not very good at that. Anway, I didnt really just want to just put the design onto the fabric I wanted to try and join some together to make a bigger design

i.e finding memo and little mermaid, 101 dalmations and lady and the tramp etc etc. Also as you can see I have put mickey mouse as fantasia on this what I will do near the end of the project is try and fill in the gaps from the top with broomsticks going down to that so it sort it makes a bigger design. All little odd ideas like that.

If any of you have any other ideas what I could do on this then please let me know, I'd like to hear them. . I'm really just making it up as I go. Just hope then end result is going to be good!!

Here's where I'm at now.

this is going to be aq long SAL!!

This is looking fantastic - I love the Disney films. If it were me I'd look to see if I could create like a path or river between the different characters almost like a yellow brick road and put some of the other characters from fantasia on it, like the winged horses, the mushrooms etc etc or the Winnie the pooh characters, and maybe the most well known Disney castle too.

I'm surprised there aren't many Disney villains about to stitch.

I just did a quick search and 123 stitch has a mini Cruella de Vil and a head for the evil queen from snow white, but you would need to purchase them

I have those and captain hook, only villains I have. Not easy to find villains at all

Great minds and all that! I did sort of think that idea but mine was slightly different, mine was to have the castle top and centre with a path winding all the way to bottom. Then have like "pooh bridge" crossing the path with all them on it and I have a chart for that

What a great start you have made on this fabulous project Paul, and I am sure it will take on a life of its own.

I will be going through my stash of mags and folders in the next little while so will make a note to look for Disney things and PM you if I find any.

I absolutely love this...stitchers are of course creative by nature (or nurture lol) but you certainly have a special flair for it. Really look forward to seeing even more of this as you go

The next part is going to be interesting and tricky!

It's an under water scene including Nemo & friends and with the little mermaid added into it. Well that's the plan

Will just put the people/fish in then make up the background coral and weeds etc after

Fingers crossed!!
